Having trouble watering in your Christmas tree? Brewer it!

Tired of spilling water on the floor when trying to water a christmas tree? Does your watering can still drip on the floor and make a mess? Are you getting older and can’t get on the floor like you used to to water that tree? For those of you who have Christmas-tree stands which hold a lot of water, “Brewer” your tree. In 2002 I came up with this trick which is pretty simple. Pull out your vacuum (hoover) from the closet and put together your plastic vacuum extension parts into a long tube. Place the tube through the branches and into the base of the tree.
Then, place a funnel into the end of the Brewer tube and pour the water in. The water flows down the tube and right into the base. Depending on how big your base is, you may need to check the water level sooner than later.
Some people have commented that it looks like a giant “Hooka” or “Bong”, but it’s called a “Brewer Tube.”
Due to the tubes being connected and light-weight, taking them apart and putting them back with your vacuum in the closet is a snap.
My parents also have a Christmas-tree stand which holds around 6-7 gallons of water, so you can imagine how much of a pain it is to try and fill the base with water without making a giant mess on the floor. They have been using a Brewer Tube to water their trees for 5 years now. One last note, I highly suggest shaking out the tubes outside before putting them away. Having dust grime build up inside my vacuum tube extensions isn’t high on my list.
Is it called a BrewerTube because it sucks so much?
Thats a good idea. I just got a new stand this year, so I’ll have to see how hard it is to fill.
Yes Joe that is exactly the reason why it is called the BrewerTube
It works pretty well actually. What prompted me this idea was that my mother, several years ago, was attempting to fill the Christmas tree stand with a broken arm.
Sweet idea mess0r
I think we might do that this year. I promise to call it a brewer tube to my family
